Grand Prize Spectrum 2003 Southeast Oakland Community Credit UnionThis challenging project involved renovation of a vacant strip mall grocery store into a vibrant, retail-oriented financial facility. It was determined that an identifiable look needed to be created. Very little natural light and an absence of interesting features made this a demanding undertaking.
While in the design phase, the floor became a focal point. A bold, high contrast color and material scheme highlighted the work, which featured a completely new interior design and installation. Unique tile work, meshing porcelain tile and high-tech bonded stainless steel, was utilized. Material and design came together to meet the challenge, and provided the signature sought by the client. This innovative look and feel has been repeated in successive projects.
