James W. Phelan Scholarship

One $750.00 scholarship per student. Four scholarships available for 2008.

PURPOSE

The mission of the James W. Phelan Scholarship Fund is to provide scholarship awards to Michigan residents in their junior or senior year attending a Michigan college or university pursuing a career path in the following fields:

• Architecture
• Engineering
• Construction
• Banking
• General Business

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

• Traditional MUST be full time students entering their junior or senior year of college.
• Non-traditional adult students can be attending school full or part-time.
• Applicants MUST have a 2.8 grade point average or better.

APPLICATION PROCESS & TIMELINE

Applications are available:

• by calling Michigan Association of Community Bankers office at 517.336.4430
• at Michigan Association of Community Bankers annual convention

All required materials must be submitted to the scholarship administrator by May 1, for the following fall semester.

Scholarships will be awarded in June for use in the following fall semester.
